The authors

The authors developed much of the material for the book while they were jointly teaching several undergraduate and postgraduate courses on distributed systems at Queen Mary College, University of London.

George Coulouris is Emeritus Professor of Computer Systems at Queen Mary, University of London and a Senior Visiting Fellow in the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge, where he is pursuing research in ubiquitous computing.

Jean Dollimore was a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London until her retirement.

Tim Kindberg is a Senior Researcher at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Bristol.
